Our Grand and Lower Halls have a long history of hosting wedding receptions and they continue to take place almost weekly throughout the year. The Council Chamber, which has been used as our main theatre space for the last 30 years, is also available to host marriage celebrations, and is the perfect alternative option for the intimate gatherings. Our Creative Team have accumulated a wealth of experience in ensuring that the planning process is as stress free as possible and that the day itself is as memorable as it should be, and have even delivered our own Artistic Director’s Wedding!
Seating up to 350 guests on round tables, the Grand Hall is the perfect space for larger or more lavish occasions. On arrival your guests will enter the beautiful glass domed atrium and adjacent airy bar, the perfect space for a glass of pre-dinner champagne, before moving into the breathtaking surrounds of the Hall itself. The layout is flexible depending on your requirements with the stage being a perfect platform for a head table or your band or DJ. The galleries that line the hall on each side are ideal for your caterers use, for buffet tables or a service area.
The Council Chamber, steeped in history both theatrical and political, and restored to its breathtaking original architecture, is the ideal setting for more intimate celebrations. Entering via our main foyer and ascending our impressive marble staircase, the Council Chamber can accommodate up to 150 people at round tables, or 200 for standing reception.
The Lower Hall is more suited to smaller gatherings, seating up to 140 at round tables. As with the Grand Hall it has its own private entrance with foyer and cloakroom space.
Many couples choose our venue for the flexibility it affords them, as well as the perfect creative environment of BAC. Whichever space you decide on, it is yours for the day and you can decide exactly how you want it to look. We can offer as much support as you require and provide a bespoke service and range of packages to make planning as simple as possible. Our Technical Team will be on hand to discuss lighting designs and sound and our in-house caterers can work with you to create the perfect food and drink for your special day.
Both of the Halls as well as the main foyer are licensed for Civil Ceremonies.
