BAC’s Council Chamber is our principle theatre space. It is a large and flexible room offering a capacity of up to 200 for a variety of events. The Council Chamber is primarily used as a theatre studio offering a number of different seating layouts.

The original oak paneling on the walls and ceiling of the Council Chamber remain but has been painted black to enable the greatest degree of flexibility for theatrical lighting and set designs. Fully equipped with an extensive lighting rig and PA system the space is ideal for more technically demanding presentations, particularly those involving AV. It seats up to 160 on the fully retractable rake, which, when removed, leaves a roomy rehearsal space offering both a full blackout and natural light from the windows on to Lavender Hill. The space has two dressing rooms and shower/WC facilities.
