Volunteers sought for celebration of female form - 26 November 2009
Women of all ages, backgrounds, shapes, sizes, levels of fitness and ability are sought to perform naked in an ensemble dance celebrating the female form, as part of Nic Green’s extraordinary, multi award winning show Trilogy. Performances will take place at BAC and the Barbican in January 2010.

Christmas Chapter 2009 - 5 November 2009
BAC offers a sack load of festive - and not so festive - shows this Christmas and beyond, with major new performances by Blind Summit Theatre and Amanda Lawrence (of Kneehigh and Told by an Idiot), John Hegley’s seasonal family show, Adam Bohman’s cult festival of experimental music and the return of Nic Green’s much celebrated Edinburgh hit, Trilogy, amongst others. These highlights are accompanied by an eclectic collection of Scratch performances from artists including 1927 and NIE.

Jiggery Pokery - 28 October 2009
Amanda Lawrence creates a striking homage to Charles Hawtrey, bringing his distinctive spirit to the stage in this funny and poignant tribute to the troubled Carry On star. Drawing on the accounts of the people that knew him, this one woman show interweaves extracts from the Carry On films with episodes from his life: from his days as a child star in Peter Pan and filming at the Pinewood Studios to his final days as a lonely and unpopular drunk on the Kent Coast.

1984 - 15 October 2009
60 years after 1984’s publication, leading puppetry innovators Blind Summit Theatre and BAC bring George Orwell’s visionary dystopian novel to the stage in a minimalist low tech new adaptation. Drawing on agit-prop techniques, the company returns to a simple form of theatre making free from modern digital technology, using just cardboard props, live actors and puppetry. The ensemble manipulates objects, people, puppets and the set to tell the story of Winston and Julia’s dissident love affair in a futuristic totalitarian state.
