What are the dangers of losing one's accent or trying to gain another?
The Involunteers have come together to undergo a rigorous regime of training in accents of spoken English. They draw on a range of systems, including Victorian phonetics primers, acting manuals, and youtube language lessons. What sounds are used in globalized English? At what point in performance do these sounds give way to stereotypes?
