Red shoes. Don’t you just love them? They make you dance with delight and spin with possibilities. But what happens when you can’t stop dancing?
Based on the Hans Christian Andersen story, this is a dark and delicious cabaret, with a story to make your heart pound. Surreal and sensuous, bloody and bare - the menacing and profound world of the fairy tale is revealed.
This will be the final UK run of the show and the last chance to see one of the defining theatre productions of the last decade.
5 STARS Guardian 'Surreal and political, haunting and brave... intensely charismatic'
5 STARS Time Out ‘As if the devil herself has come to dance in Battersea’
4 STARS Financial Times ‘This exuberant piece wraps you in the weird, wild world of the fairy tale’
4 STARS Evening Standard 'A delicious combination of the surreal, the sinister, the comic and the macabre'
Adapted and directed by Emma Rice – winner of Best Director 2002 Barclays TMA award
