We all have a nationality.
Or almost all of us.
Status is a show about someone who doesn't want his any more. About running away from the national story you're given. About who is responsible for that story and what might happen to it if you give it up.
Chris Thorpe (The Shape of the Pain, Confirmation, #TORYCORE) returns to Battersea Arts Centre with this provocative and conversation-inspiring Fringe First award-winning show about identity, privilege and belonging.
Status sees Chris reunite with visionary director Rachel Chavkin, most recently known for the critically-acclaimed Hadestown at the National Theatre.
Join us for a globe-spanning journey of attempted escape, with songs along the way.
Supported by the British Council, Goethe-Institut London, the Collaborative Touring Network and using public funding by the national lottery through Arts Council England. Commissioned by Battersea Arts Centre, Warwick Arts Centre and Les Théâtres de la Ville de Luxembourg
