Local Roots is a new, free programme of support for voluntary and community organisations in Wandsworth and Lambeth who are making a difference in their communities.
We aim to support individual organisations to develop and grow, and to help to foster a connected and collaborative community in both boroughs.
Over the next 3 years, we will be providing:
• one-to-one advice and support to address specific challenges your organisation might be facing
• social events and gatherings to connect with other organisations in your borough
• practical workshops to explore creative approaches to everything from fundraising to governance
Anyone who gets involved will also be kept up-to-date with the latest development, networking and funding opportunities, and be a part of Battersea Arts Centre’s new hub for creative social enterprises, opening in Summer 2018.
Local Roots is a partnership between Battersea Arts Centre, and Community Learning and Empowerment Network (CLEN), a social enterprise which aims to strengthen the ability of voluntary and community organisations to serve their communities, and promote the active participation of local residents in decisions which affect their lives. The partnership combines the distinguished capacity building track record of CLEN’s team with Battersea Arts Centre’s Scratch process, which encourages people to test and develop new ideas with members of the public.
Supported by the Walcot Foundation and Battersea Power Station Foundation

A chance for Wandsworth-based voluntary and community organisations to get together, discuss and share ideas.
This evening will be an Open Space format, based around the question: How can effective evaluation strengthen the voluntary sector and enable its work to thrive?
