Join us for a week of bold theatre, gigs, art and workshops exploring big ideas and inspirations from young voices and award-winning theatre companies. Experience installations from the Advocacy Academy, acting workshops with David Ajala and dance workshops with Kendra Horsburgh from BirdGang.

A night of performance poetry and spoken word, curated by Apples and Snakes.

Ahead of the next 'Hidden Gems LIVE' in Leytonstone 7 Apr, the prelude brings a range of talented artists performing a plethora of styles.

HOMEGROWN GROOVES

An evening of soulful, jazz and hip hop grooves, with live performances from London's finest talent including Aneesa Marie, Ms E Minor, J Hope, WondRWomN and Mr Jones on the Trombone.

HEAUX NOIRE
6 Apr | 9pm
A platform for Black and Brown womxn to share their stories through poetry and music.

YES: LIVE LOUNGE
7 Apr | 7pm
Rappers, singers, spoken word artists and instrumentalists from Providence House demonstrate their skills.

OFF THE TRACK: TAKEOVER PARTY
7 Apr | 7pm
Join us for a multi art form, building-wide takeover created by the BAC Young Producers to celebrate the end of Homegrown Festival.
 

EVENTS & WORKSHOPS

ADVOCACY ACADEMY WORKSHOP
5 Apr | 3pm
Advocates from the programme will lead a free workshop on how to challenge sexual harassment in schools. Participants will hear firsthand testimonies of young people's experiences of sexual harassment and learn concrete tools to take back to their schools. 

BRING ME IN: NETWORKING EVENT
5 Apr | 7:30pm
A series of networking events curated and produced by The S + K Project, uniquely designed to facilitate creative collaborations between people of colour. 

DANCE WORKSHOP WITH KENDRA FROM BIRDGANG
6 Apr | 12 - 1pm | Devas Youth Club
A dance workshop with trailblazing female artist/choreographer Kendra Horsburgh, Artistic Director of Bird Gang, a Young Vic Associate Dance Company. 

ACTING FOR SCREEN WORKSHOP
7 Apr | 1pm
Join an acting for screen workshop with David Ajala. 
Please meet at Battersea Arts Centre. 

THE ADVOCACY ACADEMY
Talks, exhibitions, workshops and installations by graduates of the programme, documentating their campaign achievements to date. Including an exhibition of the Legally Black film posters.

This event takes place on the first floor of our building, which can be reached via a lift. There is step-free access to Scratch Bar, The Bee's Knees and ground floor public spaces. There are accessible toilet facilities across the building.
