Comedy Without Victims - The Butt Stops Here

Are you someone who loves stand-up but hates going to gigs? Live comedy can make for an edgy and unpredictable experience, but does this always need to be at someone else's expense, possibly yours? We don't think so!

To mark Battersea Arts Centre's commitment to becoming a Relaxed Venue, Comedy without Victims is a mixed bill of cutting edge stand up that welcomes everyone and resists the temptation to punch down. Join us for an evening of eclectic, inclusive comedy that celebrate difference but doesn't pick on it.

Where laughter sits matter, and we guarantee it won't sit on you.

Line up includes:

Laurence Clark
An internationally acclaimed comedian, screenwriter, playwright and actor who has cerebral palsy. His observational, political stand-up, and filmed stunts, demonstrate the endearing naivety and ridiculousness of human behaviour by seeing the world through his eyes - with humour and warmth.

Evelyn Mok
This Swedish stand-up's honesty and self-referential comedy is unapologetic as it explores topics from intersectionality to adult virginity - as seen in recent show Hymen Manouvre and Bubble Butt which received praise from the likes of Sarah Millican and Graham Norton who deemed her 'Really funny, really rude but also refreshingly honest and smart.'

Jess Thom
Writer, artist and part-time superhero Jess Thom is a comedian whose unique neurology makes it impossible for her to stay on script. Jess has Tourettes, which means she says 'biscuit' 16,000 times a day. Come and find out what happens when the most persistent heckler in the room is also the person on stage.

Captain Hotknives
Captain hotknives is a freestyling comedy storyteller/ bard / bipolar explorer from bradford . The pigeons told him to shoplift

Annalisa Dinnella
Annalisa Dinnella recently wrote and presented ANNALISA IS AWKWARD, a piece of comedy journalism about awkwardness and disability for BBC Radio 4. Also on Radio 4 last month, her dark comedy, SICK, starred Alison Steadman and Cariad Lloyd. Annalisa is currently working on a series of comic monologues as well as a sitcom pilot. She lives in London with her partner, two kids and only 5% vision.

EGG are a new and exciting comedy double act made up of Anna Leong Brophy and Emily Lloyd-Saini. After improvising together in award winning improv troupe BattleActs! for over 5 years, they made the leap into sketch comedy together as EGG. Their first live show, EGG: Static received positive reviews from both audience and critics at the Edinburgh Fringe Festival in 2016. Their official debut, Richard Pictures, enjoyed sold out shows at the Fringe in 2018, and was produced by Berk’s Nest
