Impact Dance take their expertise to pull together this diverse programme of some of the industry’s best companies and choreographers influenced by the African Diaspora. 

Together the showcase will combine the ordinary and the extraordinary. It will challenge political correctness and what that means across all of society's different spaces.

Line up includes:

Sasha and Santee

Sasha Phillips and Santee Hernandez (Los Rouberos) are a salsa duet who bring fire to the stage and are beginning to build a world-wide reputation in excellence.

Mbulelo Ndabeni

A creative powerhouse for dance development.  They are focused on movement exploration, development and performance utilising dance and theatre expressions found in Southern African dances, coupled with contemporary dance, urban street dance and ballet.

Impact Youth

The performance company of the Impact Dance Academy and was the foundation of the Impact Dance Company in its inaugural year in 1995. From there it has grown to be one of the most successful Hip-Hop/Street Dance Youth companies of its time.

BOP Theatre Jazz Company UK

Body of Person aka BOP is the UK’s premier jazz theatre company founded in 1996 by international choreographer, performer and director Dollie Henry.

Cherilyn Albert

Cherilyn presents her company Instigate The Unknown, which fuses hip-hop with contemporary styles of dance.

Far From The Norm

Established in May 2009, Far From The Norm was founded by artistic director Botis Seva and is a collective of dance artists renowned for experimenting with hip hop form whilst tackling socio-political concerns.

Step-Free Access
This event takes place on the first floor of our building, which can be reached via a lift. There is step-free access to Scratch Bar and ground floor public spaces. There are accessible toilet facilities across the building.

Relaxed Performances
All performances will be Relaxed. At Battersea Arts Centre, this means that you are free to move about, make noise and come and go during the show. Ear defenders are available to use during the performance. Latecomers will be permitted – this might be at specific points in the performance agreed with the artists.
