Stephen Mangan and Joan Bakewell stand in front of a wall with portraits hung on it, in the Grand Hall

Sky Arts

Following our closure to the public earlier this week in line with government guidelines, Sky Arts' Portrait Artist Of The Year recording is cancelled.

We loved hosting Sky Arts' audiences to our Grand Hall last year, and Sky Arts loves welcoming the public to their recordings. The decision has been made reluctantly, but it is our top priority to safeguard the health of our visitors, as well as the artists, sitters and venue and production crew.
We apologise for any inconvenience caused.

We are delighted to host the next series of Portrait Artist of the Year in our Grand Hall, presented by Stephen Mangan and Joan Bakewell.

Across eight televised heats for Sky Arts, 24 celebrity sitters will have their portraits painted by 72 amateur and professional artists.

Step-Free Access
This event takes place in our Grand Hall, which has step-free access through the entrance and a lift to the Balcony. There is an accessible toilet near the Grand Hall.

There is step-free access into the main foyer of our building, and to the Scratch Bar with accessible toilet facilities on the ground floor.

Relaxed Event
This event is Relaxed. At Battersea Arts Centre, this means that you are free to move about, make noise and come and go during the event. Ear defenders are available to use. It does not mean that light and sound adjustments have been made.
