Join us for a stellar line-up of live stand-up comedy in our open-air Courtyard. See some of the best acts from around the country return to the stage for the first time in 4 months - trying out new material for your viewing pleasure.

Stand-up comedian Ed Gamble is known as a regular on Mock the Week (BBC2) and for being the co-creator and co-host of the incredibly successful mega-hit podcast Off Menu with James Acaster. He was crowned the series nine champion of the hugely popular television show Taskmaster (UKTV/Channel 4), and his other appearances include Live at the Apollo (BBC), The Russell Howard Hour (Sky), and 8 out of 10 Cats (Channel 4). Ed is also the co-host of Radio X’s Sunday morning show with Matthew Crosby.

Comedian, impressionist and viral internet sensation Steff Todd has made a name for herself with her hilarious stand up, razor sharp one-liners and amazing celebrity impressions. Steff has gained worldwide attention with her viral impressions of stars from entertainment and pop culture ranging from the Kardashians, Love Island, I’m A Celeb, judges from The Voice, BGT and many more, making her one of the hottest emerging talents in comedy. Steff recently gained national headlines when a series of impressions went viral, racking up over 20 million views. On screen, Steff landed her first acting role as a cast regular in BBC One sitcom Scarborough and has also appeared on Kick Squad (Comedy Central), Charlotte Crosby’s Lockdown Laughs (MTV), The Dog Ate My Homework (CBBC), The Reality Tea (BBC) and Newsjack (BBC). On sage, Steff performed her debut solo show Reality Check at The Edinburgh Fringe and following its successful sell out, performances continued at London’s Soho Theatre. Steff has also supported the likes of Sara Pascoe, Dave Gorman, Rob Delaney and Iain Stirling. Steff has been described as “absolute comedy gold” by Metro and “this is girl is brilliant” by comedy legend Jennifer Saunders.

John Kearns is an actor, writer and the only comedian to have won the Edinburgh Comedy Awards for Best Show and Best Newcomer in consecutive years in the awards history. An internationally acclaimed live act, he has delivered his ‘richly, idiosyncratic comedy’ (The Guardian) across the world, notably picking up two Melbourne Barry Award nominations, and twice-voted one of the Evening Standard’s 1000 Most Influential Londoners. Following sold out residencies at the Soho Theatre, Battersea Arts Centre and at the Edinburgh Fringe, his latest show was hailed by critics as his finest yet, making numerous ‘best of the year’ lists including the Evening Standard and The List. The show had a sold-out Edinburgh run, two weeks at London’s Soho Theatre, and a UK tour. John’s TV credits include Cats does Countdown (C4), the lead in cult hit Top Coppers (BBC3), Drunk History (Comedy Central), Rotters (Sky Arts) and Harry Hill’s Stars In Their Eyes (ITV).

Ticket Information


There are two types of tickets for the Courtyard.

Stalls (Seated) are wooden benches, on three sides. Gallery (Standing) is raised above the stalls and offers great views of the stage. There is a handrail to lean on.  

Tickets are available in fixed groups; you can purchase a ticket to admit 1, 2, 3 or 4 people.

Please ensure that your group belongs to the same household or support bubble. Each group will be distanced from other groups by 1 metre, in line with government guidance.
 

What to Expect


We can't wait to welcome you back through our doors. If you've visited us before, things may look and feel a little different. To keep you safe, social distancing and other measures will be in place to ensure best practice with Covid-19 guidelines.


Please note the following:

- You must arrive no later than 30 minutes before the start time of the performance
- All visitors will be required to wear a mask during the performance
- A one way system and hand sanitising stations will be in place
- Visitors are required to remain in their allocated seats throughout the performance.
- No drinks can be taken into the Courtyard or consumed during the performance
- There will be two intervals, when you can enjoy pre-ordered drinks or table service in our Scratch Bar, and use the toilets.
