Join Russell Howard and guests for a unique night of work-in-progress stand-up. A rare opportunity to see one of the most successful comedians in the country working up brand new material. Russell is currently on his (postponed due to Coronavirus) third and largest world tour Respite which will take him to 69 cities across 24 countries in 5 continents, and started with a sold-out, critically acclaimed UK arena run in Autumn 2019.
Edinburgh Best Newcomer Nominee 2017, Lauren Pattison is a comedian, actor and writer. Her vast TV appearances include two episodes of Comedy Central at the Comedy Store (Comedy Central), Roast Battle (Comedy Central), Dog Ate My Homework (CBBC) and internationally on New Zealand’s 7 Days (TV3), Australia’s Comedy Up Late (ABC) and Canada’s The Stand-Up Show with Katherine Ryan (The Comedy Network Canada). As an actor her credits include Drunk History (Comedy Central), Jerk (BBC3) and Climaxed (BBC3). On top of earning a Best Newcomer nomination, Lauren’s debut Edinburgh Fringe show earned her the prestigious Herald Angel Award and was the best-reviewed show at The Pleasance that year. She has since performed internationally in Australia, New Zealand and India and at Montreal’s Just for Laughs Comedy Festival as part of the Brit(ish) lineup alongside Sara Pascoe, Joel Dommett, Ed Gamble and Nish Kumar. Lauren can currently be heard hosting the critically acclaimed podcast Conversations Against Living Miserably produced by the TV channel Dave in partnership with CALM. Lauren previously co-hosted two series of weekly podcast Ed & Lauren for BBC Radio 1 and has appeared on BBC Radio 4 shows including Where’s The F In News, The Placebo Effect and Nasty Women.

There are two types of tickets for the Courtyard.
Stalls (Seated) are wooden benches, on three sides. Gallery (Standing) is raised above the stalls and offers great views of the stage. There is a handrail to lean on.
Tickets are available in fixed groups; you can purchase a ticket to admit 1, 2, 3 or 4 people.
Please ensure that your group belongs to the same household or support bubble. Each group will be distanced from other groups by 1 metre, in line with government guidance.
We can't wait to welcome you back through our doors. If you've visited us before, things may look and feel a little different. To keep you safe, social distancing and other measures will be in place to ensure best practice with Covid-19 guidelines.
Please note the following:
- You must arrive no later than 30 minutes before the start time of the performance
- All visitors will be required to wear a mask during the performance
- A one way system and hand sanitising stations will be in place
- Visitors are required to remain in their allocated seats throughout the performance.
- No drinks can be taken into the Courtyard or consumed during the performance.
- There will be two intervals, when you can enjoy pre-ordered drinks or table service in our Scratch Bar, and use the toilets
